The schedule for this year’s Rothbury Festival is up on their website and indeed we are playing the same day as The Dead. I was hoping for Dylan and Willie. We go on early in the afternoon which leaves us plenty of time to hit the beach, see some fireworks and get to bed before the late night jam. All the Michiganders I know tell me it’s beautiful up in those parts.
Speaking of Willie and the 4th of July, we had the honor of playing Willie’s 4th of July Picnic two years ago at the Gorge in Washington. Aside from one member of our party nearly setting fire to our backstage trailer (it’s very dry out there), we had an amazing day. Also on the bill were The Drive-by-Truckers, Old 97’s, Amos Lee and Willie’s son. Here’s some photos of us falling in love with America all over again:
